Job Application Privacy Notice


When you apply for a job at TxDOT, we will ask you to provide us with personal information about yourself so we can evaluate your application. All information is provided on a voluntarily basis. Information that is required to be considered for employment is indicated in the application process and your application cannot be submitted without it. Some questions may not be mandatory, but not providing the requested information may affect our ability to consider you for employment.

TxDOT does request information such as race, ethnicity, and gender for the purposes of monitoring equal opportunity. This information is not required for your application to be completed and it will not be used in the hiring or selection process.

The information you provide may also be used by TxDOT to contact you about future job opportunities that you may be interested in.

If you are offered a job:

Applicants who are offered employment will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment drug test and an employment and education background check. This information will remain confidential.

Release of Information:

All information collected or maintained by TxDOT is subject to the provisions of the Texas Public Information Act (Chapter 552, Texas Government Code), including employment applications and related hiring materials. If information about a TxDOT job posting and the subsequent applicants is requested, TxDOT will review the documents withhold or release information in accordance with the Texas Public Information Act..

With few exceptions, you have the right to request and be informed about information that the State of Texas collects about you. You are entitled to receive and review the information upon request. You also have the right to ask the state agency to correct any information that is determined to be incorrect. (Sections 552.021, 552.023, and 559.004, Texas Government Code).
